Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Technical Senior Engineer to join our Functional Compounds (FC) development team. This team is a crucial part of the Solid Compounds Technical Center – Asia Pacific (SCTCAP), supporting our manufacturing plants in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan. The FC team is focused on developing functional products, including black masterbatches in engineering plastics applications, conductive compounds, and sustainable masterbatches.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Perai, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

• Design and oversee product development projects, ensuring timely progress and successful completion.
• Plan and allocate necessary resources, including equipment and manpower, for project execution.
• Prioritize workloads and seek input from relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient project management.
• Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders regarding project status, and review and determine final outputs.

Team Management

• Conduct regular team meetings to review and analyze project progress.
• Provide appropriate training, support, and mentoring to junior engineers to foster their development and ensure team competency.

Research & Development

• Conduct market-oriented research and product development to meet evolving industry needs and trends.
• Maintain and update product lines and all relevant regulatory and technical data.
• Independently perform the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle for project development.

Client Engagement

• Address internal and external queries regarding product lines efficiently and effectively.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, industry conferences, and technical workshops.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Polymer Engineering, Applied Chemistry (Polymer), or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of industry experience in plastic compounding or related downstream extrusion activities.
• Proven experience in customer service, particularly with plastic converters (e.g., injection molding, cast film, and blow film converters).

Skills

• Specific knowledge and experience with relevant product lines, including black masterbatches, conductive compounds, and sustainable masterbatches.
• Proficiency in standard extrusion modeling software and techniques, polymer-related test methods, and field applications.
• Strong project management and supervisory skills.
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.

We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Technical Manager to lead our Customer Service Team (CST). This team is responsible for providing exceptional internal technical support and outstanding external customer service. Additionally, the Technical Manager will oversee the Solid Compounds Technical Center – Asia Pacific (SCTCAP), which supports our manufacturing plants in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan, and manages workshop operations and upkeep.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Perai, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage the technical service team to support all commercial functional product groups.
• Oversee the workshop support team to ensure effective management of workshop equipment, machinery, and facilities.

2. Coordinate the implementation of Global Chemical Information Management System (GCIP).
3. Raw material database – study and update various country regulatory compliance.
4. Ensure/maintain raw materials’ Safety Data Sheet (SDS) update accordingly.
5. Ensure and perform yearly products analysis compliance are carried out smoothly & meet regulatory.
6. Arrange, responsible & monitoring the progress of technical study.
7. Ensure all technical related activities comply to company management system.
8. To ensure all the supportive management system are maintained and performed accordingly.
9. Manage and responsible on Office administration / general control.
10. Coordinate with lab & workshop PIC on PR administrative control.
11. Liaise with service provider/contractor for calibration/preventive service/repair on laboratory equipment’s/workshop facilities.
12. Able to work effectively in a team and respond cooperatively to the requirements of other team members.
13. Maintain a systematic filing system to ensure efficient document handling for easy reference, retrieval, and the secure storage of critical documents.
14. Manage special assignments, ad-hoc tasks, and other duties as required.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Polymer, Applied Chemistry or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in technical administration scope.
3. Professional level of computer literacy (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Presentation Skill).
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Malay and English).
5. Chinese/Japanese Language Proficiency is an added advantage.
6. No color blindness.
7. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision, alongside being a quick learner and self-motivated.
8. Exhibits responsibility, a positive outlook, team collaboration skills, multitasking capability, attention to detail, and a willingness to undertake outdoor errands as necessary.

• Results oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia – both written and verbal.
